Meet Toni Tilston-Jones: Partner in Social Change and Healing
Lead Consultant, Counsellor, Trainer
Hi, I’m Toni Tilston-Jones, and I run Resurgence Consulting & Counselling.
I’m a white settler with roots mostly in Britain, Ireland, and Wales. I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba—on Treaty One territory, in the heart of the Métis Nation. I show up in the world as a daughter, sister, wife, parent, friend, community member, and proud member of the 2SLGBTQQIA* community.
My work is deeply personal. I care about justice, healing, and meaningful change. I’m committed to challenging the systems and structures that cause harm and imbalance—and to helping people, organizations, and communities move toward something more equitable, sustainable, and life-giving. I believe in staying curious, informed, and open to new ways of doing things. Sometimes that means picking up new tools, and sometimes it means letting go of old ones that no longer serve us.
My commitment to healing and justice isn’t just professional—it’s personal. It’s shaped by the everyday realities of living with intersections of privilege and oppression. It’s shaped by walking alongside brilliant, courageous youth and young adults, colleagues, and community members who’ve trusted me enough to build authentic relationships. These moments—quiet, powerful, and often transformative—have taught me more than any textbook ever could. They’ve deepened my belief that healing is possible, and that the pursuit for justice must be relational.
I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Manitoba, with a focus on Leadership, Social Policy, and Non-Profit Administration. I’ve spent over 25 years working alongside people, communities, and organizations—and more than 20 of those years providing direct clinical services. My training and experience are rooted in complex trauma, attachment, and relational healing. I also support folks through clinical supervision, program design, and training—especially around how to walk with people who are struggling, in distress, or thinking about suicide.
Resurgence is an extension of how I live and what I believe in. I’m constantly humbled by the people I get to work with—their creativity, courage, and commitment. I’m grateful for every opportunity to build something beautiful together.
